The Langwarrin SC are about showing respect - Respect for the game and for each other. They’re part of Football Australia’s efforts to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone involved in football.
We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all children participating in our soccer programs. We prioritize child safety, respect, and wellbeing, and we're committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early.
These standards apply to everyone in the sport: players, coaches, officials, committee members, club staff, parents, and spectators. They help make sure that the game stays fair, inclusive, and enjoyable for all, and are backed up by rules to protect the reputation and integrity of Australian football and The Langwarrin SC.
Everyone has a role in keeping the sport positive and respectful.
We come from all sorts of backgrounds and have different perspectives, and we celebrate that diversity. We respect each person’s rights, dignity, and value. We’re dedicated to equality and making sure everyone feels welcome, with no discrimination of any kind.
We understand that referees can make mistakes, but we never question their honesty or treat them with disrespect. We appreciate the difficult job they do and always show respect to referees and other match officials.
We always put the health and safety of everyone involved in the game first. We don't tolerate any actions or behaviours that could harm participants, whether it's physical or mental. This includes preventing unsafe play, addressing any risky situations, and ensuring that the environment is supportive and secure for all players, coaches, and staff. Everyone has a responsibility to keep each other safe and look out for one another's wellbeing.
As coaches, parents, and spectators, we understand that children's community football is about fun, learning, and development—not professional leagues like the World Cup or A-League. We focus on positive encouragement from the sidelines, supporting players without adding pressure. We don’t push for winning at all costs, and we remember that mistakes are a normal part of the game for everyone—players, coaches, and others. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone enjoys the game and feels motivated to improve, regardless of the outcome.
We show respect for great plays, whether they come from our team or the opposition. After every match, we thank the players and officials of the other team, win, lose, or draw. Being gracious and kind in both victory and defeat helps create a positive atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the game.
We take care of all property and equipment, both our own and that of others. This includes looking after the facilities we use and ensuring that we treat the spaces of our opponents with the same respect. These resources are important for everyone in the football community, and it’s our responsibility to protect and maintain them.
We give our best effort in every training session and game, playing with energy and enthusiasm. We support one another, helping our teammates grow and reach their full potential. Together, we work hard to improve and make the most of every opportunity.
We commit to playing the game with integrity and honesty, never engaging in dishonest or corrupt practices. We stay fair and unbiased, always working to enhance the reputation of football. We strictly follow the rules about betting and match manipulation as outlined in the Football Australia Code of Conduct and Ethics.
We lead by example and hold ourselves to the highest standards in all football activities. When we see poor behaviour, we speak out and take action. We encourage one another to uphold these standards and support each other in maintaining a positive, respectful environment for all.
